Equipment
Performance:
This pharmaceutical client needed a new 100% outdoor air unit to
support a renovated solid dosage facility. Unit is designed with
a return air section for future facility modifications.
On-time delivery was critical to support validation of the facility.
The air-handling unit included features to support cGMP requirements.
Unit includes a full mill finished interior to facilitate wash down
and cleanability of surfaces. Each access section includes floor
drains. Ample room was provided within each access section for servicing
the unit.
Two separate cooling coil banks are provided to effectively dehumidify
the outside air. Coils are a maximum of 6 rows to allow easy cleaning
of the coil's tubes and fins. Each coil bank has a double sloped
condensate drain pan. Access between the cooling coil banks is provided
to allow cleaning from both sides of the coils.
A service closet is provided along the side of the coil sections.
This allows the coil piping to be housed in a protected enclosure.
Access to the piping is through large access doors mounted along
the service closet.
No-through-metal and special insulation techniques were employed
to minimize surface condensation concerns.
Full factory performance testing was performed. Testing included
casing leakage at < ½%, vibration balancing of the fan
assembly, and flow testing.
