Healthcare Facility -
High Pressure System
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Specified Performance:
(1) 50,000 CFM rooftop unit @ 11.00" TSP
Project Features:
~ Fasttrack delivery
~ High pressure
~ Piping vestibule
Equipment Performance:
This healthcare client had just verified the committed funds required
to renovate and add operating suites to an existing Operating Room
(OR) area. The new area had to be in service in less than four months!
Both the engineering consultant and the hospital had worked with
Air Enterprises in the past and were very pleased with Air Enterprises'
performance and equipment. Through the working relationship familiarity
and by releasing equipment upon order placement, Air Enterprises
was able to ship equipment in less than (12) weeks. The consultant,
the hospital, and Air Enterprises had numerous working meetings
within the first two weeks to ensure equipment issues, coordination
efforts and project timing were ensured.
With the equipment operating at 11 inches of static pressure, casing
deflection and casing air tightness were critical. Air Enterprises
constructed the unit enclosure of all double wall aluminum panels
which were interconnected with a unique interlocking, high tolerance
extrusion system. The system was guaranteed to maintain less than
a 1/200 deflection criteria and to maintain a leakage rate of less
than 1/2%.
Unit components consisted of a vertically oriented return air plenum
fan, a Class III DWDI supply fan, variable inlet vanes with factory
mounted operators, full energy economizer/controlled air mixing
section with dampers & air blenders, steam humidification, chilled
water cooling coils, hot water heating coils, 30%/95% filtration,
and discharge sound attenuators. A 4' wide piping vestibule was
also supplied to house the integral piping on this rooftop unit.
A lighting system and fan disconnects were factory installed. Air
Enterprises supplied start-up, owner training, and field joining
field services.
